Total plate count (or aerobic plate count) test is meant to determine the level of bacterial contamination on Cannabis. However, total plate count test does not determine the presence or absence of pathogenic bacteria.
Why Test Cannabis for Total Plate Count (or Aerobic Plate Count)
Although total plate count (or aerobic plate count) will not tell us whether the Cannabis is contaminated with pathogenic bacteria or not, a high bacterial count suggests that the Cannabis was not handled hygienically. The test provides some general sense of the cleanliness of production or processing.
